Our trip to DC

Well instead of trying to catch up on the 6 months of absent blogging, I figure I would just start from where we are right now and hope to keep up on it.

Early November we went to DC for our family vacation. It was a trip that I had been looking forward to for a long time. One because it was going to be our last big vacation for a little bit. With Jackson coming soon we figured our family trips were going to be little and farther apart. And second DC such a special place to me because I served my mission there.

Here are some pictures of the highlights on the trip.
This is the Flight 93 Memorial in Shakesville PA. It took a while to get there and there were just about to close when we finally arrived. It was a great site. I learned some more interesting facts about that day and it was nice to remember these brave men.
We took a hop on and off tour bus to see DC. It was really good to take us around everywhere. Between Zack and me 6 1/2 months pregnant, we tended to slow the day down if it wasn't for the bus.
Zack was a trooper through it all.
My favorite spot was Mt Vernon. I served there for 9 months but never visited it. It is where George Washington's house was. A beautiful site that I wished we had more time to see more of it.
Well that's it for now. Hopefully I can get some post about our holidays and especially in Feb when we finally add Jackson to our family.

Zack is 1!

Zack turned one this past week and I just can't believe how fast that went. I never believe when people would tell me that it will go by in a blink of an eye. I remember holding him when he was weeks old and not knowing how to put him down so he won't cry thinking this is the rest of my life, carrying my son. My son is such a character. He is playful and a jokester (not sure where he got that). He is always smiling and seems to be really happy to see me which always makes me feel like I am the most important person. I love you Zack. Thanks for making my life better!

Always have a camera ready

We have to have a camera on this kid all the time. He is at an age where his little personality is coming out. This video is us having a yelling match. It was so funny. Sorry there is the Cobsy show on the in background. I didn't realize how loud it was until I saw the video. But I think you can get the idea of it.

Here Zack was learnig to wave bye bye to Jeremy and has had it of Jeremy saying bye bye for the 500th time that he went crazy and crawled in circles.

Life these days

Wow, this first part of the year has flown by! We are doing great. We are getting settled in our new home. Its a work in progress. We had a nice little house warming party at the beginning of the year. I was busy hosting that I forgot to take pictures. But we got alot of nice and thoughtful housewarming gifts. Our former owners even gave us a little surprise.

We found this behind the shed. We were at a loss of words when we saw it.

One of the projects that we have been working on was getting blinds for our windows. We couldn't believe what a task it was. It seems like this would be an easy project but we had to get the right measurements and we decided to install them ourselves to save money. We learned that neither of us are handy. But in the end we got them up and they look good.

Our next project is the yard and hopefully I will be able to show some good pictures when we tackle that project in a couple of weeks. Other then that we have just been enjoying Zack! He is so much fun and is developing quite the personality. He loves making people laugh, is very social and has a blast throwing a ball back and forth. I would say he is a chip off the old block. Here are just some fun pics of him.

This is my new invention. The bottle holder. You can get some other this done while your baby gets fed. He stood for a little bit. It was so funny. I did feel bad because he kind of looks like a caged rat coming to get food from the bottle.

Here is Zack and Jeremy at the park.

Zack got a hold of some cookies I was eating and snuck them over to his play area. When I found him, he was covered with it. Of course he gave me a melting smile and I completely forgot what a mess he made on himself and my carpet.

We love this kid! He has been taking a few steps the last week. We are anxious to see if he starts fully walking soon. We will keep you posted.
