our Journey to Zack

Well its been a week with our son Zack and I can't believe all that has happen in the last week.
We started our on May 8 planning to go in and get induced. They told us to call at 6am and then they would tell us what time to come in. At 500am we were all ready up and waiting for 6 to come. 5:59am I was dialing the number. They told us to call back at 8 because they were doing shift change and don't have a time right now. So we laid back in bed and waited. 759 am I dialed again. This time they said to wait until 10am and call back. I was a little on the frustrated side at that point. But I tried to stay calm and do things to keep my mind off of it. So 959am came and I called again. This time they said to call at 2pm. I was a little devasted this time. Jeremy could tell how upset I was getting so he told me to get dressed because we were going to go do something. We had these passes to the Wild Animal Park so we decided to go there. It was fun seeing the animals. The real purpose was that we thought if I was to walk around the park enough then I would go into labor and the hospital would have no choice but to take us.

well we called back at 2 and they said call tomorrow because today is just not looking good. We were bummed again! I called the hospital the next morning and they gave us the green light and said come on in whenever you can. I told them I would be there in 20 minutes and we were off. We got to the hospital and did the paper work and all that fun stuff. By 9am we were starting the first part of being induced. Everything went smoothly to progress the labor but he wasn't dropping. So after 17 hours of labor, the doctor finally said we are going to have to have a c section.

At 12:31am on May 10, 2010 Zachary Cobas Hoy was born 8lbs 11 ounces, 20.5 inches long.

Valentine's Day

Jeremy and I celebrated valentine's day on friday. He has been planning this surprise date for a while now. The only instructions I had was to get dolled up and be ready by 5:30. And then the moment came. We drove down to downtown San Diego and walked towards the bay. He got us tickets for a dinner and cruise on the San Diego Harbor. It was amazing!! I was so excited. It was the most romantic date I have ever been on. We were able to get a table with roses and candies on it and to seated right by the window. Then we were entertained and dined all evening. It was a clear night so the lights of San Diego made the night even more perfect.

Don't worry. I pulled out the romantic gestures on actually Valentine's Day and made a heart shaped meatloaf to show my undying love and affection for him. Lets see him top that next year.

Valentine's Day this year was the best I have ever had, mainly because I got to share it with my wonderful husband who I love more and more each day.

Snow in San Diego

We have been getting some good storms this last month so because of that our mountains have been getting some snow. Now when I use to live in Utah snow came to my door step but being down here now you have to travel to get to the snow. So Jeremy and I made a little trip out of it and headed to Palomar Mountain to see the snow that had fallen and this is what we found:

Just kidding there was more than that.

It was fun taking off for the afternoon. I mean I couldn't really play in the snow since it was pretty much ice and I was nervous that I was going to fall on my belly. But its all good!

The Happiest Place on Earth

Jeremy and I got a nice Christmas present from Grandma. So with that we decided to get a 4 day pass hopper to Disneyland. Jeremy hasn't been forever and it has been a couple of years since I went. It was a blast. It was also packed! The last time I went it was a weekday and there was no problem getting from on place to another and getting on all the rides. But this weekend everyone tried to get one last visit before back to work. So because of that we only got to go on a couple of rides. But because of that I saw a totally different side of Disney. We watched a couple of parades and rode the train around the park. Usually I go straight for the main rides like Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. But it was cool watching the entertainment and the holiday decorations were still up.

Here's Jeremy driving in Autopia. He was pretty good. He didn't crash into anyone.

Here I am waiting for my favorite ride "Star Tours" (I wasn't suppose to be on because of being pregnant but I used the force and little Zach is just fine, I hope)

This is Jeremy and I's favorite ride. I totally worked him!

Our Christmas/New Year Letter (alittle late)

Last year we had a Christmas letter and this year when we have had some really exciting things happen we didn't get it out!! So heres the letter that was already to get out but because life just got little too busy it just didn't happen,

December 2009

The first official Jeremy and Melissa Hoy Christmas letter. The year 2009 treated them very well. No complaints at all from them. It started out at the Rose parade . Wow that was a lot of fun, sleeping in the street and walking down Colorado Blvd in the middle of the night, seeing the strange traditions that take place. The parade itself was also amazing. Then about a week later Jeremy asked Melissa to marry him. It went pretty smooth, the only rough part was when he placed the wedding band on her finger instead of the engagement ring. Melissa politely said yes, took in the celebration and then politely let Jeremy know it was the wrong ring. They laughed about that and then went to dinner with friends.

The wedding was set for May 2nd. So for the next 5 months the wedding planning consumed there lives, as well as Melissa’s parents lives. Finally May 2nd rolled in…and it rolled in with a bang!!! Jeremy went to Fallbrook to pick up his bride at 6:30 am, (they needed to be at the temple in La Jolla at 8:30am) when he arrived his mother in law had already made a huge breakfast. Jeremy had a bite to eat, then Melissa and he were off. The reception was held in Escondido and what a reception it was. It was beautifully put together in a beautiful location on a beautiful evening. In short, the reception was perfect!! Jeremy busted some mad dancing skills, and everybody partied. They had a nice honeymoon in Victoria Canada.

They have already moved twice since May. They are now in a nice home in San Marcos and happy being there. They are in the ward that Jeremy grew up in and seem to be enjoying it.

In August Melissa went home for lunch and realized she was pregnant. She called Jeremy and told him. He wanted to believe her, but he just couldn’t. She took a second test to prove it. Jeremy still wasn’t sure how accurate these over the counter test’s were. So she went to the doctor and it was confirmed. They have been exited ever since. They look forward to each new mile stone. The first getting to see the baby for the first time, then hearing the heart beat and of course finding out the gender. They did that last one just today, yes they no longer have to call they’re baby he/she or worse… "it," but they now say him or Zachary when referring to him. Yes it’s a BOY!!! His full name will be Zachary Cobas Hoy. (Cobas is Melissa’s maiden name)

Well there’s a wrap on 2009 for Jeremy and Melissa. It was a great year. It will be hard and maybe even impossible to ever have a better year. Hope all of you had a great year as well.

Make this Christmas season the best one yet. Remember the most important part of Christmas, is Christ. Celebrate his birth above all else.

Ps…This is Jeremy… it truly was a great year ,I married a great woman. 2009 will be the highlight of my life!!

Jeremy and Melissa Hoy

Christmas Day

Well we had a great Christmas. We went to Pomona on Christmas Eve. Then spent our first christmas at home. Then went over to Jeremy's brothers house then to my parents. Lots of fun times.

The Hoy's First Christmas Party

We just moved into a 3 bedroom house and one of the reason we moved was because our little apartment was just too small to have people over. Jeremy has become such a social person since we have gotten married. He wants to have people over for dinner and play games and has thought of several ideas for parties. (I, on the other hand, got married so I didn't have to entertain anymore but its cool)

Christmas is Jeremy's favorite holiday and so of course we decided to start a tradition of having a Christmas party. It was a blast. We had a good group come over and celebrate the holidays.

We then had a white elephant/yankee swap/nasty christmas gift exchange. The presents were amazing!

It was good times and we can't wait till next year!
