Tea Time with the family

Every other month my dad's cousins get together to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, births or just life. Its usually on a sunday and right in the middle of church so I am not able to come but this sunday I just decided to go. Of course I missed going to church but I was happy to see some of my family. The place is a small elegant place. There is a bunch of hats that we were all able to where. It was fun to dress up and have little snacks.

A Possible New Career

Finally back and ready to blog!

I have been out of town for the last week which is why there hasn't been any blog post. I know some people have been a little impatient in waiting for my post even though they spent the last week with me but whatever.
So I took a fun filled vacation up north. I started out going to Zion National Park and hiked around the narrows. It was amazing and beautiful!

Then I made it up to Provo, Utah where I got to see some good friends. All week I was running from one place to another to see everyone. It was great!

Since a lot of my friends have kids I was on baby duty most of the time. I was always holding someones kid. Luckily they were all really cute so I didn't mind.

I got to go to a wedding and get my hair done but most importantly spend quality time with my dear friends. On Friday I headed to Phoenix, AZ. I was helping my friend move down there. We travelled although out the night and got a couple of hours of sleep then cleaned and ran errands to get ready for a party. We were literally pooped afterwards. It was good to be back when I got home, Tyler was sweet and surprised me by totally cleaning my car and filling it up with gas. It was a good end to an exhausting vacation. (so I kind of forgot my camera, so that is why there are not many pics.)

My New Hobby

Since I am done with school I have decided to start working on my "if I only had time" list. One of them has been learning to play the piano. I have always wanted to play more then heart and souls and the Toyota theme song. So one day when I was at institute I learned that the lady seating to the right of me happen to be a piano teacher. And since then my life has changed. In more ways than one.

This piano lesson has been one of the highlights of my week for the last couple of months. I take a break in the middle of my Wednesday work day and head over to the Wells' house. I sit with Janet and learn about this amazing instrument. I have been learning from an adult book and the hymns made easy. Currently I am working on We thank thee O God for our prophet, How gentle God's commands, God be with you till we meet again and Jesus once of humble birth. After the half hour of learning and laughing, we start to gab about life, the gospel and lately, her son. You see with this lesson is a little more then learning the piano. It is also a dating service. She set me up with her son and we have been dating ever since. I knew there was a reason I needed to take up piano.

Anyways my teacher says I have been doing great. I am picking this up very fast. Of course I am flattered because I like being great at things but I also wonder if it is to help me to keep dating her son. whatever.

One of these days I am going to find a way to put a mp3 of my beautiful playing but till then you will just have to read about my progress.

My 15 minutes (more like seconds) of fame!

Last weekend I went to go to see the taping of Last Comic Standing. I am pretty sure that this Wednesday is the show that we went to. So if you happen to be flipping through the channels that night you might see my face in the audience. We went to the head to head that is at the end of the show. I am in the third of fourth row back and I look dang good.

That has been one fun opportunity I have loved doing. Going to see TV shows is so much fun. To be on the set and see the Hollywood stars is so exciting. I went to the Ellen DeGeneres Show about a month ago and that was amazing. The tickets are free for all the tapings. I am hoping one of the producers will see me and want to offer me a deal for The Melissa Cobas Show. I think it has a nice ring to it. Watch out Hollywood here I come!!

So I thought I would try this blogger thing out. I have enjoyed all my friends blog pages. Unfortunately I don't have cute pics of my children or husband. They'll come one of these days. This blog stuff has helped me feel in touch with my friends lives even though we are far apart from each other. This way I can keep in touch with all of my friends without ever talking to them. Genius.

BACK IN CALI

So here is what I have been up to in the last couple of months. After 8 years of being away, I have finally moved back to california. I am living with the family for a little bit for a number of reasons, one I want to spend time with them and it is freakin expensive out here. So I am waiting to marry a lawyer or doctor to move me to a house on the beach. No big deal.
I have two jobs right now. One is working as a job coach with people with disabilities and the second is at a group home for autistic boys. Both good jobs for now. I am looking into one of two options. Either getting into the teaching for america program or starting my teaching credential program next fall. The ultimate goal is to math high school teacher and coach on the side. I want to pick up physical education later on as well.
Being here has been great! I don't remember the last time I was this happy for such a constant time. Everything with my family is great, I am close to my life long friend Shelby, I get to go to padre games and later in the year charger games plus I am by the beach all the time! I am still working on getting a good group of friends but I am meeting some great people. I am also still looking for Mr. Right and have had some fun prospects lately but nothing to talk about just yet.
So hopefully this will let you know what is up with me. There is always a standing invitation for anyone that wants to come out here and visit.
